What is an appointment like at Calla Bridal?
Our appointments are an hour and fifteen minutes with one on one service from our consultants. We are here to help you achieve your bridal vision, and even suggest styles you never thought would be perfect for you! Our gowns are floor models, generally a street size 10, so we use clips and work magic to fit them to you as you try them on. We also have a growing collection of plus size dresses! Once you choose a dress, we take measurements and work with you to order the best size and color for you. We strive for your experience at Calla to feel comfortable, friendly and fun!
When should I order my dress?
All the gowns we carry are what's known as "cut-to-order", where the fabric isn't cut until an order is placed. A great time to start looking is 8-12 months before your wedding. Generally gowns take 14-16 weeks from order until arrival at the store. Rushes are possible, sometimes with additional fees.
What about alterations?
We expect all of our brides will need some alterations to make the dress fit them perfectly. We are happy to refer you to a professional seamstresses with extensive experience altering wedding gowns. You will most likely need at least three fittings. The alteration fee is determined by the seamstress, evaluated on a case by case basis, and not included in the gown purchase price. March through September find the seamstresses fairly busy, so please leave at least 6-8 weeks for alterations.
What is the price range of gowns at your shop?
The bridal gowns range from $1100 to $3500+, with most falling between $1800 to $2500.
How many guests can I bring with me?
Our fitting room nooks fit 3-4 guests, past that it gets very cozy. We recommend keeping your entourage small so the bride can focus on what makes her feel best, rather than pleasing her group :) However, if you know a head of time you will have a large group, we recommend asking for an appointment time where you can have the shop to yourselves.
Can we bring champagne?
We do not have a liquor license so can't allow champagne, but if you would like to have a bubbly toast, you are welcome to bring some sparkling juice or other tidy snacks.
